On March 23, 2023, Senators from both sides of the aisle, including Senator Ben Cardin (D-Md.) and Senator Roger Wicker (R-Miss.); Congressmen William R. Keating (D-Mass.-09), Tom Kean Jr (R-N.J.-7), Joe Wilson (R-S.C.-2) and Steve Cohen (D-Tenn.-9) have come together to call for the release of Russia's democratic opposition leader, Vladimir Kara-Murza. The bicameral resolution condemns Russia's unjust and arbitrary detention of Kara-Murza and calls for his immediate release, as well as the release of other political prisoners.
